Calvary’s Pastor

Jeremiah Curtis Cochran was born and raised in a Baptist pastor’s home. He trusted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of five after a July 4th picnic in 1989. He was called to preach at the age of fifteen during a Sunday morning service at Trinity Baptist Church in Cullman, AL where he met his wife, Amber. Pastor Cochran graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin in 2006 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Church Ministries. Amber graduated from Maranatha in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education. While on staff as dorm supervisor at Maranatha, Pastor Cochran finished his masters degree in 2008.

Pastor Cochran served as associate pastor at the First Baptist Church of LaSalle, IL and principal of LaSalle-Peru Christian School from 2008-2012. He became our pastor in December of 2012. Pastor Cochran and his wife have two wonderful children, Joshua David (2010) and Annabelle Voncile (2014).

Pastor Cochran is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Central Seminary in Plymouth, MN. Both Jeremiah and Amber love God honoring music. Pastor Cochran has been playing the violin since the age of eight, and Amber has been playing the piano since she was ten. Pastor Cochran traveled with the Maranatha Chamber Choir from 2003-2006. He was also a member of the Maranatha Praise Men Quartet in 2005. Pastor Cochran and Amber traveled to California and back their first year of marriage as staff evangelist and leaders for the Maranatha Triumphant Brass in 2007.

Pastor Cochran has a passion for God’s Word. The text of Scripture is his sole authority. His desire for Calvary Baptist Church is that its people know the Word of God and are moved to action based upon that knowledge. The church is not a passive tool of God in this age, but it is an active tool going in the power of God to combat the “Gates of Hell.”

Pastor Cochran’s life verse in Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus Christ, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
